The title song of Rekha Thapa’s upcoming directorial venture, Maya Bhanekai Yasto Hola, has been released, offering the first major musical glimpse of the film’s romantic world.
Unveiled at an event in Kathmandu, the song features Dil Shrestha alongside Srishti Shrestha, Namrata Shrestha and Niti Shah. Its colourful visuals revolve around instant attraction, romantic imagination and the dreams a young man begins to build after encountering a beautiful woman.
Written and composed by Prashant Siwakoti, the song is performed by Siwakoti and Bigyani Parajuli. Gambhir Bista has choreographed the video.
The visual presentation places Dil at the centre of three separate romantic settings, hinting that love, attraction and emotional confusion could drive the film’s story. However, the production team has yet to reveal the full relationship dynamics between the four principal characters.
Maya Bhanekai Yasto Hola marks Rekha Thapa’s return to filmmaking as a director after a gap of around eight years. Following Himmatwali and Malika, it is her third directorial feature.
Produced under the banner of Diya and Amu Films, the movie brings together veteran performers and popular contemporary faces. Its cast includes Madan Krishna Shrestha, Dil Shrestha, Srishti Shrestha, Namrata Shrestha, Niti Shah, Laxmi Giri, Rajaram Paudel, Bishal Pahari, Sangam Bhandari, Sujata Shrestha and Binod Paudel.
Dhruv Lamsal has written the screenplay, while Sudip Baral serves as director of photography. The makers say the film uses a love story to explore social emotions and relationships.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 11, 2026.
