Nepali Movie Mahabhoj Poster
A son turns to his father for financial help, only to discover that the money his father spent a lifetime saving has disappeared into a cooperative scam. That discovery drives Mahabhoj, a Nepali social drama starring Dayahang Rai, Khagendra Lamichhane and Aaryan Sigdel, now available to watch on Kendra Motion Pictures’ YouTube channel.
Directed by Dinesh Raut, the film explores financial fraud, political influence and the struggle of ordinary people to recover what belongs to them. Watch the full movie through the YouTube player on this page.
At the centre of the story is Biraj, played by Khagendra Lamichhane, a bank loan manager facing financial pressure of his own. He and his wife return from Kathmandu to their village, hoping his father can help them meet their apartment loan payments.
Instead, Biraj learns that his father’s savings have been misused. What begins as a personal search for money becomes a fight to uncover corruption and hold those responsible accountable.
The story widens beyond one family’s loss. Depositors demand answers, people in positions of power try to protect themselves, and those caught in the middle face the consequences. Through these struggles, Mahabhoj examines how financial betrayal damages relationships, threatens livelihoods and destroys trust within a community.
The film brings together an ensemble cast featuring Dayahang Rai, Aaryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Anjana Baraili, Gaumaya Gurung and Malika Mahat. Supporting performers include Buddhi Tamang, Basundhara Bhusal, Mohan Niraula, Kamal Mani Nepal, Pushkar Gurung and Binod Neupane.
Written by Bikash Subedi and produced by Himal Kadaria, Mahabhoj is presented by Clock Work Creation and Picture Frame. Rajesh Shrestha handled the cinematography, while Nimesh Shrestha edited the film.
Mahabhoj released in Nepali cinemas on June 13, 2025, corresponding to Jestha 30, 2082. Its story places the human cost of corruption at the centre, following people whose hopes for security become entangled with greed and political ambition.
For viewers interested in Nepali social dramas, Mahabhoj offers a story of family responsibility, broken trust and the determination to seek justice.
