The official trailer of Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2 is out, bringing the Deepak Raj Giri–Deepa Shree Niraula team’s Dashain release closer to audiences.
Directed by Dipendra Lama, the film stars Giri, Keki Adhikari, Sanisha Bhattarai and Karma Shakya and opens in Nepal on October 17, 2026, coinciding with Ashoj 31 and Phulpati.
The sequel arrives seven years after the original Chha Maya Chhapakkai, which explored the connections between politics, community life and personal relationships. This time, the promotional campaign has put a complicated relationship involving Giri, Adhikari and Bhattarai’s characters at its centre.
Before the trailer, the film’s first-look poster introduced that setup through an unusual image: Giri playing a flute between Adhikari and Bhattarai, both appearing as pregnant characters. It offered an early hint of the relationship complications awaiting audiences.
The song “Mayama Expiry Date Hudaina” developed that angle further. Its video showed Giri and Adhikari as a married couple before introducing a romantic connection between his character and Bhattarai’s. Together, the poster and song raised questions about how the three characters’ lives would become intertwined.
The trailer release follows these earlier glimpses as the makers prepare to bring the story to cinemas during Dashain.
Alongside the principal cast, the film features Prakash Ghimire, Rama Thapaliya, Nirmal Sharma, Rabindra Jha, Rajani KC and Sharada Giri.
Giri has written the story and screenplay, while Niraula contributes as both an actor and adviser. Rohit Adhikari produces the film, with Nirmal Sharma and Suraj Bam Thakuri serving as executive producers.
Presented by Aama Saraswati Movies, Rohit Adhikari Films and IME, Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2 brings familiar collaborators and new cast members together for its Phulpati opening.
