‘Bigul’ Trailer: A Powerful Political Drama That Questions Nepal’s Leadership

The trailer of Nepali film Bigul is out, spotlighting political corruption, social injustice, and the clash between old power and a fearless new generation. The film releases nationwide from January 23.

The official trailer of Bigul was released on Youtube, instantly drawing attention for its hard-hitting theme and realistic portrayal of Nepali society. Directed by Ramesh Koirala, the three-minute trailer opens a window into political power games, broken promises, family conflicts, and the growing clash between an old political mindset and a restless new generation.

Bigul centers on the anger and awakening of ordinary citizens who have long suffered under corrupt leadership. The trailer highlights how political leaders repeatedly betray the country and its people, while the younger generation rises to question, resist, and demand accountability. Set against the backdrop of an upcoming general election, the film feels timely and sharply relevant.

The trailer blends political tension with emotional family drama, showing how ideology divides generations and how responsibility weighs heavily on today’s youth. It suggests a larger movement, one that could push viewers to think deeply about leadership, justice, and civic duty.

Actors Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, and Binod Neupane stand out in the trailer, strongly representing the voice and frustration of the younger generation. The cast also includes seasoned performers Saroj Khanal, Nir Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, Shishir Wangdel, Hemanta Budhathoki, JN Ghimire, Gita Adhikari, and Man Shyee Sharma, with Rabindra Khadka in a special appearance. New actress Meeraa Pandit makes her debut through this film.

Produced and written by Dinesh Koirala, Bigul is presented by Kalpana Poudel, with Surya Kanta Koirala and Mahesh Koirala as co-producers. The film is shot by cinematographer Shiva Dhakal and edited by Tara Thapa ‘Kimvey’. Music by Arjun Pokharel, Manoj Chaulagain, and Bishwo Prakash Sharma adds emotional weight to the narrative.

Already in discussion since its first-look poster, teaser, and songs, Bigul promises more than entertainment. According to the makers, the film aims to inspire awareness, responsibility, and critical thinking among Nepali audiences.

Bigul is set to release nationwide in cinemas from Magh 9 (January 23).
