‘Parvati’ Movie Highlights Neeta Dhungana and Ashok Darji’s Emotional Sibling Bond
The official trailer of Neeta Dhungana’s directorial debut film ‘Parvati’ has been released, offering an emotional look at the bond between a sister with autism and her younger brother.
The nearly four-minute trailer puts Neeta Dhungana and Ashok Darji at the heart of the story. Neeta plays Parvati, while Ashok appears as her younger brother, whose affection and concern for his sister form one of the film’s strongest emotional elements.
The trailer also shows the challenges Parvati faces while growing up. After being enrolled in school, she is teased by others, leading to confrontation and further social judgement. These moments suggest that the film will explore not only sibling love but also acceptance, family relationships and the way society treats people with autism.
Directed and conceptualised by Neeta Dhungana, ‘Parvati’ features Ashok Darji, Deepa Shree Niraula, Siru Bista, Radhika Kandel, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Rajendra Nepali, Asha Paudel and Dipta Prakash Adhikari, among others.
The screenplay is written by Shivam Adhikari, with cinematography by Sudip Baral and choreography by Ramji Lamichhane. Harihar Adhikari is the producer, while Shankar Pandey serves as executive producer and production manager.
‘Parvati’ is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 28, 2026 (Bhadra 12, 2083).
