The official trailer for veteran actor and filmmaker Nir Shah’s Nepali movie ‘Kamala Miss’ has been released, offering an emotional look at a story shaped by education, personal struggle and the lasting influence of a teacher.
The trailer places the life and responsibilities of a teacher at the centre of the narrative. Through emotionally charged scenes and intense conversations, it explores the relationship between teachers and students while hinting at the personal challenges faced by its central character.
Alongside its focus on education, the trailer touches on social expectations, human relationships and the circumstances that can shape a person’s future. Its dramatic moments and performance-led presentation suggest that ‘Kamala Miss’ will approach these subjects through a psychological and socially conscious narrative.
The film is inspired by acclaimed writer and playwright Bijay Malla’s well-known play ‘Kohi Kina Barbad Hos’. It is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in Nepal on August 7, 2026, corresponding to Shrawan 22, 2083.
Directed by Nir Shah, the film also features him in the cast alongside Ramesh Budhathoki, Basana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Chhetri, Aarav Dahal, Bhawana Magar, Krishna Murari Dhungel, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayanta Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC and Sanjay Khatiwada.
‘Kamala Miss’ has been produced by the Bijay Malla family for the Bijay Malla Memorial Foundation. Chaitanya Prakash Pradhan, Umesh Malla, Ramesh Babu Shrestha and Ram Bhattarai serve as executive producers, while Pushkar Lama, also known as Prem Bhomjan, is the line producer.
Based on a story by Bijay Malla, the screenplay and dialogues have been jointly written by Nir Shah, Prajal Dulal and Sugam Dulal.
The technical team includes cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha, editor Milan Bikram Shah, background score composer Kiran Tuladhar, sound mastering engineer Mukesh Shah and choreographer Ramji Lamichhane.
