Nepali film ‘Karki Saila’ has released its official teaser, introducing Jitu Nepal as a hardworking rural man whose unmarried life becomes the target of constant teasing from his friends.
The teaser follows Karki Saila, who earns a living carrying heavy loads and leads a simple village life. After being repeatedly mocked for remaining single, he boldly declares that he will get married within seven days. That seven-day marriage challenge appears to drive the film’s comedy, conflict and emotional journey.
Alongside Jitu Nepal, the teaser features Priyana Acharya, Sushil Pokharel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha and Manshi Sharma. The film also marks the first big-screen collaboration between Jitu and Priyana.
Directed by Rajendra Basnet, ‘Karki Saila’ is based on a story by Dambar Rai, with screenplay and dialogues by Shankar Dhital and Sabin Adhikari. The film was shot in and around Dhankuta, Barahakshetra and Chatara in eastern Nepal.
The teaser also hints that the film will explore more than just a comic search for marriage, touching on social pressure, village life and the struggles of an ordinary worker.
‘Karki Saila’ is scheduled for nationwide release on Asoj 2.
