‘Akshara’ Trailer Turns a Forced Marriage Into an Emotional Family Conflict
The official trailer of upcoming Nepali film ‘Akshara’ has been released ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on Bhadra 26.
The 3-minute-24-second trailer introduces an emotional story centered on a young woman whose family arranges her marriage against her wishes. What begins as a family decision soon leads to conflict, emotional turmoil and wider social consequences.
Directed by Binay Raj Poudel, the film stars Sushil Sitaula and Nancy Khadka in the lead roles. The cast also includes Sushil Pokharel, Anshu Maharjan, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Uttam KC, Geeta Adhikari, Birendra Kushwah, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari, Suman Jyoti Neupane and Srishti Khadka.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, ‘Akshara’ is presented by Soni Thapa (Dhungana), with Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana as investors.
The makers have also announced that 10 percent of the producer’s share of the film’s theatrical earnings will be donated to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.
‘Akshara’ is being distributed by National Cine Group Nepal, while its digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.
