Jitu Nepal & Priyana Acharya Lead Emotional Nepali Drama Karki Saila
Official trailer for Karki Saila, starring Jitu Nepal and Priyana Acharya, is out, offering a closer look at an emotional story built around love, marriage, family and the everyday struggles of a village porter.
Jitu Nepal plays Karki Saila, a kind-hearted porter who earns his living carrying loads. The trailer follows his life as he meets a young woman played by Priyana Acharya, falls in love and eventually begins a family. But behind those happier moments are social humiliation, personal struggles and emotions he finds difficult to express.
One of the trailer’s central ideas focuses on the silent emotional burden carried by men—the notion that while others may openly cry, a man often searches for solitude before allowing himself to break down.
Directed by Rajendra Basnet from a story by Dambar Rai, the film also stars Sushil Pokhrel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Manshi Sharma, Manil Tamang and other actors. Shankar Dhital and Sabin Adhikari have written the screenplay and dialogues.
The film was shot across eastern Nepal, including Dhankuta, Barahakshetra and Chatara. Its previously released romantic song ‘Lagyau Paran’, featuring Jitu and Priyana, is sung by Shreya Agasti and Benisha Paudel, with lyrics by Bishnu Nepal Nepali and music by Sanket Agasti.
Karki Saila releases in cinemas across Nepal on Asoj 2, 2083 (September 18, 2026).
