Anmol KC and Princy Khatiwada Bring Old-Village Romance to ‘Batulo Jun’
The official teaser of Bhuwan KC-directed Batulo Jun has been released, bringing Anmol KC and debut actress Princy Khatiwada together in a nostalgic romance set in an earlier era of Nepali society.
The nearly two-minute long teaser offers a first look at the film’s period setting, village atmosphere and central love story while keeping much of the plot under wraps.
One of its biggest surprises is the connection between Anmol KC and Bhuwan KC’s characters. The teaser indicates that Anmol portrays the younger phase of the character later played by Bhuwan, creating an unusual father-son connection within the story.
Anmol appears in a moustache and period-inspired styling, giving him a look noticeably different from many of his contemporary romantic roles. His scenes with Princy Khatiwada form the emotional centre of the teaser, with their relationship unfolding against a traditional rural backdrop.
The teaser also gives audiences a glimpse of Garima Pant, who is returning to Nepali cinema after remaining away from regular film appearances for several years. She appears alongside Bhuwan KC in the film.
For director Bhuwan KC, Batulo Jun also revisits the mood of an earlier generation of Nepali romantic cinema. The filmmaker has said the project draws on the emotions and atmosphere associated with love stories from an earlier phase of his own cinematic journey.
The film reunites Bhuwan and Anmol in a director-actor collaboration around a decade after Dreams. Princy makes her feature-film debut with Batulo Jun.
Written by Samipyaraj Timilsena and Sarin Pokharel, Batulo Jun features cinematography by Rajesh Shrestha, editing by Krishna Bhandari and background score by Roman Bajracharya. Jiya KC and Bhavishya Khadka are the producers, while Vivek Thapa serves as co-producer.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on Kartik 26, 2083 — November 12, 2026.
