Nikhil Upreti Goes Bigger With His New Action Film ‘Acharya’
Nikhil Upreti is back in full action mode in the official trailer of ‘Acharya’, his second directorial film after ‘Bhairav’.
The nearly three-and-a-half-minute trailer, unveiled at Big Movies in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, puts Upreti at the centre of a high-energy mass entertainer filled with fights, stunts and intense confrontations.
Building on the film’s earlier teaser, the new video offers a broader look at its action choreography while also hinting at a story involving justice, suspense, modern technology and spiritual elements.
Upreti has said that ‘Acharya’ was made with an ambition to show that large-scale entertainment can be created with Nepali content, resources and talent.
“We Nepalis can also make films in the style of foreign movies. If we can make such films and entertain Nepali audiences, that is the battle we have to win,” he said during the trailer launch.
Alongside Upreti, the film features Purnika Sijapati, Deep Raj Rana, Pramod Agrahari, South Indian actors Raghu Babu and Raghu Karumanchi, Rohit Chaudhari, Sajeena Shrestha, Dhurba Koirala and other performers.
Presented by Nikhil Upreti Production Pvt. Ltd., ‘Acharya’ is written and directed by Upreti. Krishna Bhattarai is the producer and Mithilesh Tiwari serves as executive producer.
Saurav Lama, Mannu BK and Nawaraj Krishna Thapa handled cinematography, with action direction by Sukraraj Shah and editing by Bande Prasad. Sandesh Shah created the trailer.
‘Acharya’ opens in cinemas on September 25, 2026 / Asoj 9, 2083.
