For four sequels, Kabaddi kept one question alive: Will Kaji ever get married? The newly released teaser for Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match appears to finally answer it, only to open a much bigger mystery.
The roughly three-and-a-half-minute teaser begins with BK and Chhantyal preparing a room for a wedding night. The setup soon points to Kaji, played by Dayahang Rai, who is shown entering a new chapter as a married man.
So, is Kaji’s long-running romantic struggle finally over? Not quite. The teaser declares, “The game may be over, but the story remains,” setting up fresh complications after the so-called “Final Match.”
Bijay Baral’s BK and Buddhi Tamang’s Chhantyal return with the familiar humour and friendship that have shaped the franchise, while Bipin Karki makes a striking new entry. His character is deliberately kept mysterious, suggesting that he could play a key role in the conflict ahead.
Then comes the teaser’s biggest surprise. Rishma Gurung returns as Maiya, bringing Kaji’s past back into the picture just as he appears to have settled into married life. Her comeback immediately raises a new question: why has Maiya returned now?
Srijana Gurung is also seen in the storyline surrounding Kaji’s new relationship, adding another layer to the film’s romantic equation.
Written and directed by Rambabu Gurung, Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match also stars Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Bipin Karki, Rishma Gurung and Srijana Gurung alongside Dayahang Rai.
Kaji may finally be married, but with Maiya back and Bipin Karki entering the game, the “final match” clearly left plenty of story unfinished.
The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on Kartik 6, 2083 (October 23, 2026).
